The level cap was raised to 99 in December of 2011, and this year's census takes a look at how the change has affected Main Job Distribution and Main Job Level Distribution, along with what percentage of Vana'diel's population has ascended to the highest level possible.
This year's Main Job Distribution graph starts at level six and details how many jobs there are per level, up to 99.
The largest segment of characters has a main job level of 99, which accounts for 20 percent of the total populace. This is likely due to the ease of which characters can accrue experience points in Abyssea and Grounds of Valor. The next largest group is that of level 75 characters, who are probably relics left over from the level 75 cap era. Level-90 and level-95 characters come in at third and fourth respectively, following the same logic as their level-75 counterparts.

Next, let's look at the distribution of main jobs.
Most of the higher ranked jobs either retained their positions from last year's census or differed by only a single place. A striking exception was the Blue Mage, which jumped from 17th to 10th, a phenomenon which we attribute to the fact that blue mages not only can adapt to different situations by using various spell configurations, but are useful in many different content areas as well.

Moving on, let's examine main and support job combinations.
We see no change from last year in the two highest ranks, and it would be no exaggeration to say that the white mage/black mage job combination has taken root in Vana'diel. The pairing of beastmaster and dancer, however, climbed all the way to third despite not even being ranked in the 2011 census. This sudden surge in popularity likely stems from both the effectiveness of familiars for small parties and the ability of dancers to heal HP, easily trigger enemy weaknesses, and allow beastmasters use dual wield, thereby dramatically enhancing their capabilities along with their familiars'. Maybe the memory of how effective this job combo was in the overhauled Dynamis remains as fresh in your mind as it is in ours.
|Ranking||Job||Support Job||Relative Percentage|
|1||White Mage||Black Mage||3.75%|
|2||Black Mage||White Mage||2.28%|
|4||Red Mage||Black Mage||1.04%|
|5||Red Mage||White Mage||1.03%|
|9||Black Mage||Red Mage||0.70%|
|13||White Mage||Red Mage||0.51%|
The graph below details the percentage of jobs at level 99. As depicted above in the Main Job/Support Job ranking, beastmaster is the job that has seen the largest increase since last year's census.
* If a single character has leveled multiple jobs to level 99, all of those jobs have been included in the data.
