Why doesn't the character that I want to reactivate appear on the management screen?

Only characters that can be reactivated through the Character Reactivation Service will appear on the management screen. However, the character that you want to reactivate may not appear on the management screen if any of the following apply:

- The character's Content ID is still active or eligible to be reactivated under the normal procedure.
- After deleting the character, another character has been created on the same Content ID.
Unfortunately, if a character does not appear on the management screen, said character cannot be reactivated.

Please note that your character may not be reactivated in the exact state as it was at the time of cancellation, and character data may slightly differ. Also note that the Square Enix Information Center cannot reply to inquires as to whether or not specific characters can be reactivated. Please use the application form to apply, and use the management screen to verify your character's status.

Who is eligible for the Character Reactivation Service?

The Character Reactivation Service is aimed for customers whose FINAL FANTASY XI character data has been deleted.

You are not eligible for this service if any of the following apply:
- You cancelled your PlayOnline membership, but have never obtained FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID.
- Your membership was revoked due to violations of the user agreements, delinquent payments, or other reasons.
- You are currently playing the 14 Day Free Trial.

I don't know the information necessary for the application procedures for the Character Reactivation Service. What should I do?

If you are not sure of the information needed for the application procedures or you have lost this information, please call the SQUARE ENIX Support Center (the caller must must be the person whose name was registered in the account).

In what state will the character be reactivated? Can character data be changed?

Character data such as status and inventory items will be restored to the same state as it was at the time of cancellation or deletion. Please note that items that were placed in delivery boxes and auction houses at the time of cancellation cannot be restored.
Square Enix does not guarantee that character data will be restored to the state desired by the applicant.

I closed the window while filling out the application form. How can I proceed to complete the application?

To continue, simply open the form once again. All information that was previously entered should still be reflected.

I created a new character with the same name as a character I had previously deleted. Can the previous character be reactivated?

Yes, if the Content ID that was being used for the previous character has been deleted. However, if a character with the same name already exists in the world that your character is to be reactivated in, you will have to rename your character after reactivation.

Is there a limit to how many characters can be reactivated?

There is no set limit. All characters that appear on the management screen can be reactivated.

If I deleted multiple characters on one Content ID, will I be able to select which one of those characters I want to reactivate?

All characters displayed on the management screen can be selected and reactivated. Any characters not displayed on this screen cannot be reactivated.

Can characters be reactivated on a different PlayOnline ID?

No. Characters cannot be reactivated on a different Content ID.

I'm playing FF11 on the 14 Day Free Trial right now. Can I use the Character Reactivation Service?

No, you cannot use the Character Reactivation Service.
However, if you transfer to regular billing-based gameplay after the free trial period has ended, you can reactivate any characters that were deleted during the 14 Day Free Trial.

Can I select which world I want my character reactivated in?

No. Characters are automatically reactivated into the worlds they were in prior to cancellation.

I have received character reactivation support from the SQUARE ENIX Support Center in the past. Am I still eligible for the service?

Yes. Please confirm all requirements for eligibility and apply through the application form.

The character that I want to reactivate does not appear in the "Character That Can be Reactivated" list. Is there no way that character can be reactivated?

No. Only characters that appear on the management screen can be reactivated.

I accidentally obtained a Content ID that I do not need. Can I have the fee refunded, or credited to another Content ID?

No. We are not able to offer fee refunds or credit for Content IDs, even if they are accidentally obtained.

I am currently playing FINAL FANTASY XI with a different Content ID. Can I still use the service?

Yes. If you fulfill the application requirements, you can still use the service even if you currently have other active Content IDs.

Is there a "free trial period" for characters reactivated through the Character Reactivation Service?

No. There is no free trial period for characters reactivated through the service.

Will a FINAL FANTASY XI registration code be issued by the Character Reactivation Service?

No. You are able to use the FINAL FANTASY XI registration code you currently possess.

I deleted the character data on a Content ID before cancelling the ID itself. Can I still reactivate the character?

If the proper conditions are met, the character can be reactivated regardless of whether its data was deleted or not.

If I had cancelled my PlayOnline membership, can I change or arrange for a new payment method through the Character Reactivation Service?

No. The character(s) will be reactivated to your current PlayOnline ID, so your payment method cannot be changed through the service. To change your payment method, please go to the "Membership" section of "Service & Support."

Do I need to obtain a Content ID before applying?

No. You can obtain the necessary number of Content IDs after confirming how many of your characters can be reactivated.

Can I use the World Transfer service immediately after reactivating my character?

Yes, you can.
However, if you have obtained a Character World Transfer before reactivating your character, you will have to wait 90 days from the acquiring date before you can perform another world transfer.
