Introduction

On Wednesday, May 16, 2012, FINAL FANTASY XI celebrated the tenth anniversary of its launch in Japan!

One year has passed since the last Vana'diel Census, and the realm has evolved considerably in that time span, with new Voidwatch jurisdictions, Dynamis seeing a renewal, and an expansion of Walk of Echoes. We've also begun to see a shift in users' play styles, thanks to the level cap being raised to 99, adventuring fellows gaining level 49 spells and abilities, and the addition of new weapon skills.

Once again we've included new data and analysis with this year's survey in order to more accurately delineate exactly how this community has changed over the past year. Now, without any further ado, let’s take a look at the current state of the FINAL FANTASY XI community.

The graph below represents login data from Monday, April 9th, 2012 to Sunday, April 15th, 2012. The number of simultaneous logins shows that there are always a considerable number of players logged into FINAL FANTASY XI at any time, which we like to think is the biggest strength of using worldwide servers.
