PlayOnline Plus Beta Test Begins

PlayOnline is proud to announce three new mail services, known collectively as PlayOnline Plus. We are now accepting applications to participate in the beta test, which begins today.

[Character Name Address]
You can now have up to five PlayOnline e-mail addresses based on the names of your characters. This service is currently available for FINAL FANTASY XI characters.

FINAL FANTASY XI example:

xxx@yyy.ffxi.pol.com

(Here, "xxx" represents the name of your character and "yyy" represents the name of your world.)

* While this service increases the number of sender addresses available to you, it does not create new mail accounts. Mail using a character name address is handled through your original PlayOnline mail account.

This can be useful if, for example, you would rather not disclose your primary PlayOnline address to someone. You can simply use a character name address instead.

[Mail Forwarding]
This service forwards mail that is sent to your PlayOnline address to up to two other e-mail addresses.

[Mail Filter]
This service allows you to block unwanted mail based on sender or subject.

We can accept up to 3,000 beta testers for each PlayOnline Plus service.

Beta testers will need Content IDs for each service that they test. All PlayOnline Plus Content IDs will be free of charge for the duration of the beta test (approximately two months). To apply for the beta test, select "Extras" from the PlayOnline Viewer's main menu, then select "PlayOnline Plus." To acquire Content IDs, visit the Content ID page for each service that interests you.

* Because PlayOnline Plus is still under development, errors may occur. To report any such issues, please visit the PlayOnline Plus top page and select "Report a Bug."
