Safekeeping of Your PlayOnline ID and Password

In order to enjoy PlayOnline services, each individual customer has their own unique registration codes that are included with the FINAL FANTASY XI package. Without these codes, you will not be able to use PlayOnline services, and therefore it is very important that you keep them in a safe place. Game Masters (GMs) and/or Square Enix staff will never ask for your PlayOnline ID or password during gameplay or through e-mail. *The only exception is when talking to a PlayOnline Information Center representative, you may be asked for the PlayOnline ID or registration code. Using third-party programs may expose your PlayOnline ID and password without your knowledge. Be very careful when using your PlayOnline ID and password. Be sure to use it only when logging into PlayOnline and/or PlayOnline Plus.  Also, please make use of the Guest Login function when you attempt to log into the game from either your friend's PC or an Internet Cafe. Finally, it is recommended that you change your PlayOnline password on a regular basis.  This can be done through the "Service & Support" screen accessed from the PlayOnline Menu. Choose "Membership," select "PlayOnline ID," and then select "Change Password".
