Message To Windows XP Users

Due to the firewall function of Windows XP Service Pack 2 which was recently released by Microsoft, a dialog may appear when you attempt to use the PlayOnline Viewer or FINAL FANTASY XI. If such a dialog appears, please select "Unblock" and you will be able to continue to play normally. This dialog can also appear after returning to the PlayOnline Viewer (in windowed mode) from FINAL FANTASY XI. If "Keep Blocking" is selected, you may become unable to connect. By performing the following steps, it is possible to "Unblock" PlayOnline and FINAL FANTASY XI. 1. From the Start menu, select Start -> Control Panel and select "Windows Firewall." 2. Click the "Exceptions" tab to display the application registration screen. 3. If "PlayOnline Viewer" is displayed on the list, check the box next to it. If "PlayOnline Viewer" is not displayed, select "Add Program" and register the POL.EXE file from the folder where you installed PlayOnline. 4. Select "OK" and exit the "Windows Firewall" to complete the process.
