We’re pleased to announce part two of our Returnee Support Campaign, aimed to bring returning adventurers up to speed with the latest happenings in Vana’diel! This second installment features three different courses to help you test the skills that you’ve brushed up on since coming back. Take all you’ve learned and get ready to enter the fray!

If this is your first month back in Vana’diel:

Are you aware of the Records of Eminence system? If not, diving right into it should be your first step forward!

In Records of Eminence, players can set a variety of objectives—from vanquishing certain monsters and participating in various types of battle content—complete them for a special currency known as sparks of eminence, and trade the sparks in for item level 117 equipment. To get started, select “Basics” from the Tutorial section, set the objective “Call Forth an Alter Ego,” and follow the instructions laid out before you!

To those who haven’t yet reached item level 119:

A currency known as “bayld” is available for contributing to pioneering activities in Seekers of Adoulin areas. Bayld can be exchanged for all manner of item level 119 equipment, so you can continue on with your character’s progress as you learn more about the story of the Scared City.

Pioneering activities run the gambit from participating in battle content such as Colonization and Lair Reives or by performing more solo-friendly, exploratory coalition assignments.

Part Two: Test Your Skills!

Now that you’ve gotten your item level up to 119, it’s time to put your equipment to good use! We’ve got mini-campaigns covering three different types of battle content, so take a gander and pick one (or more!) that suits your playstyle.

The one-and-done High-Tier Mission Battlefield Campaign!

High-Tier Mission battlefields are souped-up versions of battlefields that you may remember from progressing through the main missions of Vana’diel’s most famous stories. Relieve some classic FINAL FANTASY XI moments in a more challenging form! In addition to strong equipment, spoils also include items that can fetch a pretty gil at the auction house!

Progress ever deeper with the Incursion Campaign!

In Incursion, adventurers must mete out justice to dastardly fiends, progressing ever deeper into a labyrinth until they come face-to-face with a boss monster.
Strategic-minded players will enjoy discussing which route to take and which boss to attempt, to say nothing of the plan of attack they chose to take. Spoils include job-specific capes that increase experience gains!
