Announcing the Results of the February - April Version Update Survey (07/01/2014)

Thank you to everyone who participated in the February - April Version Update Survey! We've organized all of the data and we're pleased to share the results along with comments from Producer Akihiko Matsui.

Trust adjustments (addition of messages, battlefield usage, etc.)


We've received a positive response from the vast number of players utilizing Trust alter egos. Moving forward, we'll be making adjustments so that alter egos can be used in a variety of content and utilized on a wider-scale.

Please tell us the Trust alter egos you use the most. (Up to three)


Kupipi has made it into first place again as the alter ego that is summoned most frequently. Since she was designed to be a standard healing-type alter ego, this is an understandable result. Next, support-type alter egos that utilize haste are also noticeably popular. As for damage dealing alter egos, Prishe and Tenzen are being used quite a bit, but Volker and other alter egos are not summoned very much, so we will be making adjustments similar to the adjustments made to Zeid.

Addition of "Seekers of Adoulin" missions


The Adoulin storyline is starting to heat up and progress at full speed. We'll be making various adjustments for alter egos to be used in mission battlefields as well as easing entry requirements so that more players can enjoy these missions.

Addition of "Seekers of Adoulin" quests


We'd like to share more of the Adoulin lore that cannot be told through missions alone with supplementary quests. Based on the results of this survey, there were slight improvements since last time, but there are still a lot of players who have yet to experience these quests. We'll be making changes so that more players can get into this content.

New area: Outer Ra'Kaznar


I apologize for the inconvenience of not having a means to escape from the deepest portion of Outer Ra'Kaznar.

Recently we've begun to see a lot of recruitment shouts for this skirmish and Outer Ra'Kaznar has become an area that is visited quite frequently.

Addition of job-specific equipment for geomancer and rune fencer


At long-last, we've added relic-equivalent equipment for both rune fencers and geomancers.

Relic equipment reforging


This result showed that there is a large split between players who are satisfied with this content and those that are not. We'll be analyzing the reason for the dissatisfaction and do our best to work on a solution.

Addition of job-specific equipment


This was a similar result to that of relic equipment reforging. We'll be looking into adjustments based on the feedback posted on the forums and fan sites.

Addition of new objectives for Records of Eminence


We'll be adding various types of objectives moving forward ranging from your standard objectives to those that are bit different in nature.

Large-scale fishing revamps


We made adjustments that placed more significance on fishing skill and made it so effort towards fishing was rewarded. We also simplified fishing both system-wise and visually to make it easier to get into this content.

Reduction in fame required for quest offers


Considering the increased pace of leveling, we made adjustments so that quests could be received at a faster rate. I feel there was a positive reception for this based on the results. I think one reason for the somewhat high percentage of players that were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied is that there are a good amount of players who have already reached the required fame. We'll continue to look into adjustments to make players even more satisfied.

Addition of new monsters


Making attractive battles with new monsters is the perfect chance for planners to show off their skills. We'll continue to pay close attention so that effective means of attacking are balanced when adding unique characteristics to both content and monsters.

Addition of new skirmishes


The skirmish in Outer Ra'Kaznar was set to a higher difficulty than the previous ones, yet it remains a relatively easy way of acquiring item level 119 equipment. Make sure to add this skirmish to your battle content repertoire!

Enhancing skirmish equipment to item level 119


We've received plenty of feedback on obtaining vials of transmelange, and increased the drop rate in the June version update. Balancing equipment in terms of stats and difficulty of acquisition is one place where player and developer opinions diverge, but we'll do our best to mitigate these differences whenever they arise.

Puppetmaster adjustments (Overdrive adjustments, etc.)


We've made adjustments for pets to better ready them for high level encounters with the implementation of food that affects pets. We are looking forward to further feedback on this.

Dancer adjustments (Waltz adjustment)


We'll be looking into improving the advantages of using dancer as a main job. In particular, we'll be looking at the core elements of the job: steps and sambas.

Rune fencer adjustments (Addition of abilities, etc.)


We'll be making adjustments so that there are different uses for rune fencer and paladin depending on the monster and situation.

Enmity adjustments


Controlling enmity is largely dependent on player skill, and we will make adjustments under the philosophy that enmity management should be something that the party as a whole must manage.

Adjustments to the prioritization of "Additional effect: Weakens defense"


I apologize that the adjustments for defense effects and Angon took longer than we had anticipated.

Addition of graphical effects when Naakuals change their battle mode


We added graphical effects to make it easier to understand when these monsters' powerful attacks and defenses have been nullified through special methods.

Addition of a method to check on the battle conditions of wildskeeper reives


Wildskeeper reives were designed around the concept that you could enjoy a large-scale battle without having to form a party, and as such we will continue to make adjustments to make it easier to join and enhance the motivation to challenge this content.

Delve adjustments (Addition of a system that scales NM HP depending on the number of participants, etc.)


We've made adjustments to make it easier to attempt Delve as low-man parties and implemented a system that scales NM HP so you can play with a couple of friends or as a large group.

Addition of new Delve content


Addition of new items that can be purchased with Mweya Plasm


We'll be adding new equipment and making further adjustments so that a greater number of players can undertake this content.

Additions and adjustments to Monstrosity


There were a lot of players that indicated they have no plans to try this content out, and we feel it necessary to revamp it and add new elements. Currently, the main content for Monstrosity involves leveling up and unlocking monster families solo, so moving forward we'll be making additions that involve playing with larger numbers of players using the monster families and sub-species they've unlocked.

Easing of entry restrictions for Scouting the Ashu Talif, Royal Painter Escort, and Targeting the Captain


While there may be cases that instanced areas are affected by congestion, such as Arrapago Remnants, we'll be proactively looking into modifying content requirements such as number of participants.

Job points


We'll continue to add more enhancement categories with future version updates. Additionally, as a continuation of the adjustments that were made recently, we will be looking into increasing the scope of content where players can earn capacity points so that job points may be obtained more easily.

New avatar: Cait Sith


Apologies for making you all wait so long for Cait Sith. We implemented an avatar with special characteristics, such as the Level ? Holy ability, where damage fluctuates based on dice rolls; a Reraise that can be cast on other party members; and an amnesia effect that can be used against enemies.

Level increases for monsters that spawn in Dho Gates and Woh Gates


We made adjustments with the goal of increasing the number of locations for earning capacity points. The higher a monster's level, the higher the cap on the chain bonus and the longer the time extension becomes. Additionally, we've lessened the penalty when in a party for these areas, so if you're planning on grouping up for capacity points, try including these areas into your array of choices.

Reduction for the necessary amount of merit points to access high-tier mission battlefields


We've lowered the merit points costs associated with attempting these battlefields so that they could be accessed more easily. When we add new battlefields in the future, we'll be looking into reducing the amount of merit points needed for existing ones while keeping an eye on those that are experiencing a lot of congestion.

Addition of new high-tier mission battlefields


Currently, the pace of leveling is quicker, and it's possible to solo missions with the right equipment and level. For those players looking for a good challenge, I recommend undertaking these high-tier missions battlefields.

Implementation of an upper limit on the effect of Treasure Hunter


In order to increase thief equipment choices, we've made adjustments so that there is a Treasure Hunter cap which can be reached without having a Treasure Hunter effect on your weapon.

Campaign adjustments (area influence adjustment, ability to increase combat and magic skills)


We've made adjustments to area influence rates so that areas can be held more easily. The next array of Trust alter egos we are planning to add will be focused on Wings of the Goddess characters, and we'd like players who have yet to fulfill the requirements to obtain them to participate in Campaign. This is also a good opportunity to skill up combat and magic skills.

Ability to increase combat and magic skills during reives


Similar to Campaign, we've also made adjustments to reives so that there is more motivation to participate. Reives are another source of the high-purity bayld needed to create ergon weapons, so make sure to give them a go.

Respawn time reduction for Gulool Ja Ja, Gurfurlur the Menacing, and Medusa


As this was something that was tied closely to Besieged, it took a bit of time to address. I apologize for the delay.

Application of the effects of slow to certain monsters whose regular attacks are AoE attacks


We needed time to work on and test this because overall edits had to be made to the AI scripts of the monsters, so I apologize for the delay.

Adjustments to the maximum HP and MP for each race


We have received a plethora of feedback on this item, but our adjustments have resonated with the player base.

Adjustments to increase the alignments values gained from triggering voidwalker weaknesses


This has become content that can be challenged by small groups of players, and we'll continue to make adjustments that fit the current play styles.

Addition of monsters that players can use Despoil against to obtain items


Thank you for your patience. We addressed this for monsters in Adoulin areas.

Addition of synthesis and synergy recipes


We'll continue to make quality of life improvements and add new synthesis items so that a larger amount of players may enjoy this content.

Addition of an NPC to exchange job-specific back equipment


We added equipment rewards for all players participating in reives and have adjusted the difficulty of obtaining them by adding an exchange NPC.

Adjustments to the stats of the Chariot Band, Empress Band, and Emperor Band


We've made adjustments to better fit the current amount of experience points being earned. We'll continue to make adjustments as we monitor the status of the game.

Moogle storage slip support for reforged relic equipment


We'll continue to look into item storage improvements, as there are limitations to the Porter Moogle system.

Addition of the text command "/checkparam"


We'll continue to expand the parameters displayed based on everyone's feedback.

Addition of the text command "/lockstyle"


We've implemented a measure to eliminate the flickering of characters that occurs when changing equipment during battle. Player feedback has been largely positive, but because it's difficult for backline jobs who swap out staves to take advantage of this feature, and the lock is removed when changing areas, some dissatisfaction remains. We'll be adding a feature in the future that will improve these aspects.

Addition of Survival Guide areas


We'll be looking into whether we can make the connection between Survival Guides and home point warps smoother.

Adjustments to the amount of experience points lost when knocked out


We'll be monitoring the effects of the adjustments that were made and look into completely removing the experience point reduction upon being knocked out.

Elimination of bazaar taxes and the reduction of Auction House listing fees


This was one of the adjustments made to help facilitate item circulation.

Auction House UI adjustments


This was another adjustment made for item circulation as well as convenience. Personally, I find that I've been selling more items and frequenting the auction house more often.

Coalition assignment adjustments (Provide, Deliver, and Support)


We'll be making adjustments to the amount of bayld that can be earned through coalition assignments to match that of supply-type coalition assignments.

Adjustments to Phomiuna Aqueducts oil lamps and addition of a method to open the door in Sacrarium


We'll continue to make adjustments to dungeon mechanics, quests, and missions so that they can be undertaken solo.

Home point selection list adjustments


We had been debating whether we should make this change, as everyone has had had a good period of time to get used to the ordering, but I'm happy to see that this was well received.

We held a special Meeble Burrows campaign this time around, and we'll continue to hold events like this to add enjoyment to various content.
