In celebration of the second installment of Echoes of Vana'diel (San d'Oria: The Second Walk) being added to FINAL FANTASY XIV as part of Patch 7.3, FFXI will also be bringing back three previous events.

One of these events will be the return of the FINAL FANTASY XIV Collaboration Event.

This is your chance to get your hands on special equipment featuring a design based on the spriggan monsters from FINAL FANTASY XIV, as well as other fabulous items!

About the FINAL FANTASY XIV Collaboration Event

Without warning, mysterious monsters known as spriggans have appeared within Vana'diel.

Although they seem harmless, the moogles are in a bit of a panic after noticing that these creatures have been seizing any crystals they can get their hands on.
"These creepily cute fiends are after the crystals, kupo!"

As such, the beleaguered moogles have put out a call for help to all of you adventurers out there!

How to Participate

1. Check how to proceed with the event.
Speak to a moogle in the following locations in order to confirm the details of the event!

Southern San d'Oria (G-9) / Port Bastok (K-7) / Windurst Waters (F-9)

2. Receive a helpful dose of moogle magic.
Only those under the effects of mysterious moogle magic* cast by moogles in the following areas are able to capture spriggans.
* Players' levels will be reduced to one while under the effects of the magic and will be unable to attack or receive attacks from monsters other than spriggans for the duration.

West Ronfaure (I-6) / North Gustaberg (L-8) / West Sarutabaruta (J-8)

3. Catch the spriggans infesting Vana'dielian wildlands!
Attack the spriggans that appear in the field in order to capture them.

When a spriggan's HP reaches zero, the effects of the moogle magic will temporarily transform it into a stone shard*.
* There are three kinds of stone shards, and the color of the shard depends on which color stone the spriggan possesses.

Spriggan Sifter > chartreuse stone shard
Spriggan Crier > vermilion stone shard
Spriggan Graverobber > mauve stone shard

4. Collect the shards and get your reward.
Speak to the moogle who started the event to participate in a mini lottery* for special prizes using your stone shards.
* If you receive third prize or the booby prize, it increases the odds of your next spin of the wheel resulting in first or second prize. These odds will reset when you receive either of the two higher tier prizes.

The odds of receiving higher tier prizes vary slightly with the color of stone shard used. Mauve stone shards provide the best odds, followed by vermilion, and then chartreuse.

About the spriggan fetish and the red and purple spriggan spirits

Players will also be able to acquire items such as a spriggan fetish by fulfilling certain conditions.

These items can be used with Monstrosity (*), which is a game feature that lets players transform into monsters.

How to Play Monstrosity

1. Obtain the "ring of supernal disjunction" key item.
Complete the quest "Monstrosity" from Suspicious Hume in Pashhow Marshlands (E-12) to get the "ring of supernal disjunction" key item!

2. Go to the "Feretory" lobby area
Examine the Odyssean Passage located in one of the following areas while in possession of the "ring of supernal disjunction" key item to be transported to the Feretory*.
* The Feretory is an area unique to Monstrosity that enables you to make various preparations.

Northern San d'Oria (L-8) / Port Windurst (M-4) / Port Bastok (K-12) / Pashhow Marshlands (E-12)

3. Transform into a spriggan!
Trade a spriggan fetish to Suibhne in the Feretory in order to gain the ability to possess* spriggans.
* The ability to transform into a monster within Monstrosity is known as "possession."

4. Transform into spriggan variants as well!
If you trade a red spriggan spirit or purple spriggan spirit to Suibhne while possessing a spriggan, you will be able to possess other kinds of spriggans as well.
