Regarding Approved Graphics Cards
NVIDIA, AMD (ATI), and our development team have worked together to test the compatibility of a number of graphics cards. Compatibility of the cards listed below with FINAL FANTASY XI on Windows has been tested and the results are as follows (accurate as of Feb. 15, 2011).
Approved Cards and Drivers (As of Feb. 15, 2011)
On the charts below, the numbers between the parentheses refer to the driver version used during testing. Only PCI-Express cards were tested for NVIDIA's GeForce 7300 series and AMD's (ATI) RADEON X300 series and above. Also please note that DirectX 9.0c is required for Geforce6 series and up. Please visit your graphics card manufacturer's web site for all driver software downloads. The operating systems used for compatibility testing is were Microsoft Windows,XP 32bit, Vista 32bit, and Windows 7 32bit/64bit. (NVIDIA GeForce 8 series and AMD (ATI) RADEON X1000 series or later were tested using Windows XP/Vista). Tests on Windows 7 were performed using NVIDIA GeForce 8 series and AMD (ATI) RADEON HD 4000 series and above card. Dual GPU cards, SLI, and CrossFire were not tested and are not officially supported.

*1. We have confirmed compatibility while Bump Mapping in FINAL FANTASY XI Config was disabled.
- Click “Start” → “All Programs” → “PlayOnline” → “FINAL FANTASY XI” → “FINAL FANTASY XI Config”
- Click the “Effects” tab and uncheck the box that says “Enable bump mapping,” then click “OK.”
- Once a pop-up window asking “Save Settings?” appears, click “Yes.”
IMPORTANT
Settings under the PlayOnline Config or FINAL FANTASY XI Config cannot be changed while either the PlayOnline Viewer or FINAL FANTASY XI is running.

| Use of the Catalyst 9.6 drivers, or any later versions, with Windows XP will result in a dramatic reduction in performance. As a result, FINAL FANTASY XI may be difficult to play using these graphics cards, as well as any other graphics cards that require the Catalyst 9.6 drivers or later versions. |
Notes
• As stated on the FINAL FANTASY XI official website (under PC Information), laptop computer graphics chipsets, such as the Mobility Radeon 9000, GeForce FX5600 GO and the nForce2 IGP series, have been confirmed to be compatible and functioning. However, testing did not include standalone chipsets and their functionality cannot be guaranteed.
• There is the possibility that compatibility issues may arise due to other components present in a Windows PC. We ask that the users be acquire and install the appropriate software drivers for all of their PC hardware.
• Please note that the test results above are from February 2011, and certain, newly released graphics cards may not be compatible, even when using the driver versions listed above.
• If your computer was purchased from a computer manufacturer, please use the drivers provided by them as appropriate.

* Your router may require that you use a PC to configure your network settings. For more information about how to configure your network settings, please refer to the instruction manual that came with your router or contact the manufacturer directly.
* If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) specifies a DNS server, you may need to configure your settings to allow packets to pass through UDP Port 53 as well.
